contour drawing, 'the slipper' 1973

Contour drawing is a technique, where you look only at the object you are drawing. At no time do you look at your paper. The exercise is to imagine that your pencil is on the 'real' object, while you draw it on your paper. This helps you to feel the object, and this 'feeling' comes out in the drawing.
