Thanks. I have just been up on the internet, to find out more about pastels. Something that I am not doing right, to achieve the results I know are possible. And.. I found what I was looking for.
Pastels are meant to be blended.. with 'tools' such as, your own fingers, or "cotton balls on a stick", or with a little wooden stick, to name a few. The colours can be blended using paint thinner too! In that case you can use a paint brush, or the same cotton balls.
So, on the next pastel, there should be some new effects!
I definitely find pastels hard to work with. Maybe that is why I have never used them before
